Keine Ahnung. Auf jeden Fall ist es ein Eisbär. Ein Eisbärenmädchen würde ich sagen. My husband got a totally lovely birthday present. If you follow me on Instagram, you have already seen it: a washcloth animal. It’s a polar bear. A girl polar bear I would say.

Normally I don’t show you my husbands birthday presents, but this one my daughter (9) made all alone! They made a similar one at school. At home she came up with this project and established it all alone. I love how it came out and just wanted to show you how it works.

You need a washcloth, some wool, buttons, swing thread and some felt. Additionally: scissors and a needle.

Decide which animal you want to make and look for a washcloth, threat, buttons and yarn in the right colour.  Take some yarn and wrap it around one edge of the washcloth. This will become the ear of the animal. Make the same on the other side of the washcloth. Look for a good place for the eyes and sew on the buttons at this position. My daughter decided to make a polar bear and therefor embroidered the face of the bear with some black yarn. The nose is made of an old scarf that got felted in the washing machine (unfortunately but good for this project).

These animals are a great project for kids because it’s really easy to make and  they train to sew on buttons and simple embroidering. The result is a glove puppet they can really use! Therefor this project will take part in my #LOVTamtam collection.

I’m so looking forward for my birthday present! Will it be as adorable?

Liebe Grüße und einen schönen Wochenstart. Lots of love – have a good week.
